Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) Tariff Preferential Levels – Notices to importers and exporters

This message is to inform you that, subsequent to Canada’s April 3, 2020 ratification of the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), the Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade has established the administration of the Tariff Preferential Levels (TPL) under CUSMA, and related Notices to Importers and Exporters are now available on the Global Affairs website.

Tariff Preference Level Imports of Wool and Cotton or Man-Made Fibre Apparel Goods, Cotton or Man-Made Fibre Fabrics and Made-Up Goods, and Cotton or Man-Made Fibre Spun Yarn from the United States and Mexico under the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement – Serial No. 1000

The Notices set out the administration of the Tariff Preferential Levels, and identify where import permits / certificates of eligibility are required.

In accordance with CUSMA, the Tariff Preferential Level year will normally extend from January 1 to December 31 inclusive. Upon entry into force of CUSMA on July 1, 2020, the Tariff Preferential Level year for implementation year only will extend from July 1 to December 31, 2020.  Tariff Preferential Level quantities for year 1 of CUSMA implementation are not pro-rated and the full quota quantities are accessible for imports and exports.

Accord Canada–États-Unis–Mexique (ACEUM) niveaux de préférence tarifaire – Avis aux importateurs et aux exportateurs

Ce message est pour vous informer que, à la suite de la ratification par le Canada le 3 avril 2020 de l’Accord Canada-États-Unis-Mexique (ACEUM), le ministre de la Petite Entreprise, de la Promotion des exportations et du Commerce international a établi l’administration des niveaux de préférence tarifaire (NPT) en vertu de l’ACEUM, et des avis connexes aux importateurs et exportateurs sont maintenant disponibles sur le site Web d’Affaires mondiales.

Les avis définissent l’administration des niveaux de préférence tarifaire et précisent les situations où des permis d’importation / certificats d’admissibilité sont nécessaires.

Conformément à l’ACEUM, l’année visant les niveaux de préférence tarifaire s’étendra normalement du 1er janvier au 31 décembre, inclusivement. Dès l’entrée en vigueur de l’ACEUM le 1er juillet 2020, l’année de mise en œuvre des niveaux de préférence tarifaire ne s’étendra que du 1er juillet au 31 décembre 2020. Les quantités de niveaux de préférence tarifaire pour l’année 1 de la mise en œuvre de l’ACEUM ne sont pas calculées au pro-rata et les quantités totales de contingents sont accessibles pour les importations et les exportations.
