CBSA starts dumping investigation of corrosion-resistant steel sheet from three countries
Tribunal will first determine whether the imports are harming Canadian producers.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) launched an investigation into the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of certain corrosion-resistant steel sheet from Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.
The investigation follows a complaint filed by a Canadian manufacturer of corrosion-resistant steel sheet.
In the next step of the investigation the Canadian International Trade Tribunal will first determine whether the imports are harming Canadian producers, and will issue a decision by January 7, 2020.
Concurrently, the CBSA will investigate whether the imports are being sold in Canada at unfair prices, and will make a preliminary decision by February 6, 2020.
Anti-dumping and/or countervailing duties could eventually be applied to the goods under investigation.
