CBSA issues regulations and amendments for CUSMA rules and procedures
The Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) is in effect starting July 1, 2020
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) issued Customs Notice 20-22 advising of new regulations and regulatory amendments for the implementation of the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) which comes into effect on July 1, 2020.
Uniform Regulations as defined in Article 5.16 of Chapter 5 of the CUSMA, regarding the interpretation, application, and administration of
– Chapter 5 (Origin Procedures),
– Chapter 6 (Textile and Apparel Goods) and
– Chapter 7 (Customs Administration and Trade Facilitation)
have been adopted and are published in CBSA’s Memorandum D11-4-34, Uniform Regulations – Chapters Five, Six, and Seven of the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA).
