Tribunal to review expiry of duties on oil country tubular goods from nine countries
Anti-dumping finding scheduled to expire unless CBSA and Tribunal decide to maintain it.
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its order to determine if the continued or resumed dumping of certain oil country tubular goods originating in or exported from Chinese Taipei, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and Vietnam is likely to result in injury to Canadian industry.
The Tribunal’s finding, issued in April 2015, imposed anti-dumping duties on these goods from the nine countries.
In the first step of the review the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by July 23, 2020, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping of the goods if the finding is left to expire.
In the event of a positive determination, the Tribunal will determine, on December 29, 2020 , whether the continued or resumed dumping and subsidizing are likely to result in injury.
According to statistics published by the CBSA, 31,640,314 kilograms of the subject good were imported in 2018, resulting in the collection of $1,036,951 in anti-dumping duties.
