CBSA starts dumping investigation on small power transformers from three countries

Tribunal will first determine whether the imports are harming Canadian producers

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) launched an investigation into whether or not certain small power transformers from Austria, Chinese Taipei, and South Korea are being sold at unfair prices in Canada. The investigation follows a complaint filed by four Canadian manufacturers.

In the next step of the investigation the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) will first determine whether the imports are harming Canadian producers.

Concurrently, the CBSA will investigate whether the imports are being sold in Canada at unfair prices.

Anti-dumping duties could eventually be applied to the goods under investigation.
