CBSA starts dumping investigation on certain upholstered seating from China and Vietnam

 Trade Tribunal will now determine whether the imports are harming Canadian producers

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) launched an investigation to determine whether certain upholstered domestic seating from China and Vietnam is being sold at unfair prices in Canada. The investigation follows a complaint supported by several Canadian manufacturers.

In the next step of the investigation the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) will first determine, by February 19, 2021, whether the imports are harming Canadian producers.

Concurrently, the CBSA will investigate whether the imports are being sold in Canada at unfair prices and will make a preliminary decision by March 22, 2021.
