Tribunal to review expiry of anti-dumping of duties on steel plate from three countries
Finding is scheduled to expire unless CBSA and Tribunal decide to maintain it.
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its finding concerning the dumping of certain hot-rolled carbon steel plate and certain high-strength low-alloy steel plate originating in or exported from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Romania.
The Tribunal’s finding, made in January 2004 and renewed several times since, imposed anti-dumping duties on these goods.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by May 24, 2019, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping of the goods if the finding is left to expire.
In the event of positive determinations by the Agency, the Tribunal will determine, by November 4, 2019, whether the continued or resumed dumping is likely to result in injury to Canadian manufacturers.
