TransX was honoured with a SmartWay Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a true industry leader in freight supply chain environmental performance and energy efficiency. As a Mixed Carrier Fleet Awardee, TransX was recognized for demonstrating their ability to carry more goods per ton-mile, using less fuel and emitting fewer greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions.
TransX was one of 44 carriers to receive this distinction, representing the best environmental performers of SmartWay's nearly 3,000 partners. The carrier Excellence Awardees were honoured at American Trucking Associations Annual Management Conference & Exhibition held in San Diego, California on October 7, 2014.
"SmartWay carriers deserve our gratitude for a decade of progress in cutting carbon pollution, while saving their customer money in fuel costs," said Chris Grundler, Director, EPA's Office of Transportation & Air Quality. "They have reduced thousands of tons of dangerous pollutants and climate altering greenhouse gases, while raising the bar on a sustainable transportation future."
EPA's SmartWay Transport Partnership is celebrating 10 years as a market-driven initiative that empowers businesses to move goods in the cleanest, most-energy efficient way possible, while protecting public health and reducing the impacts of climate change.
